Code Club

St Gregory's Catholic Primary School - Code Club!

We are proud to say we are one of 900 schools that take part in the nationwide 'Code Club'. Key Stage 2 children meet once a week at lunch time where they complete different projects. The projects, designed by CODE club, teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites. We aim to use a variety of programming language so that our children experience a broad range of coding, not just learn to operate one piece of software!

Throughout the course of the year, children will progress and learn more whilst at the same time using their imaginations when making creative projects.

So, what kind of software and hardware will we be using?

  • Scratch
  • Python
  • Kodu
  • Sphero
  • App Inventor

The long-term goal is that the current CODE club members will reach an ability and confidence level that they will be able to teach new CODE club members how to code alongside helping out in lessons with learning partners who may not feel as confident!

Let's get ready to change the world!
