Collective Worship
Children engage in daily Collective Worship. This can take place as a whole school, in key stages or in class. We encourage children to take as much part in the planning of each session as possible. The approximate timings for the length of the sessions are one minute for every year of a child’s life. Collective Worship consists of four elements, which mirror those of the Mass. These are:
In each classroom, a box of inspiring resources, such as material, candles, pebbles and prayer books is available to create a prayer focus. The class or group then gather together in a chosen way, to listen to the Word of God, respond with prayers, singing, actions or silence, then find some way to share their experience with the wider world.
