Crime & Punishment. Who were the early lawmakers?

Join us as we travel back to 1212 and discover the foundations of Parliament as it is today.

Who were the early lawmakers?

Year 4 have been working hard researching the beginnings of parliament and the first steps towards democracy in our country.

We have looked at figures such as King John, King Henry, Simon and Eleanor De Montford, Stephen Langton (Archbishop of Canterbury) and the Bishop of Chichester. Each one played their own role in the build up to war and the establishment of parliament.

We have had a special visit from our local MP, Bill Estersen! Bill told us all about life as an MP and answered lots of questions from an excitable Class 4.
