Maghull & Lydiate Art Group Schools Competition 2022
Maghull & Lydiate Art group are a local art group, and as part of their exhibition this year, they are holding their fourth Schools Art Competition.
The competition is FREE to enter for all children from Reception to Year 6.
Children will need to create an original piece of artwork, A4 size, using any medium of their choice based around this year’s theme JOY (using colour & pattern)
The children should try to think of interesting ways of using pattern and colour to celebrate Joy in their artwork.
Credit will be given for creativity, imagination, skill & individuality.
There are 3 different age categories: Years R, 1&2 Years 3&4 Years 5&6
Children need to create an original piece of artwork, A4 size, using any medium of their choice based around this year’s theme.
If they wish to explore ideas and elements, Mrs McDonnell has a prompt sheet to help with ideas, which can be given to your child if you request it.
Each age category has 2 x £5 prizes and several Highly Commended certificates to be won. All winners and highly commended work will be announced and displayed during an exhibition on Saturday 18th& Sunday 19th June at Lydiate Village Centre, Lambshear Lane, Lydiate L31 2LA.
The closing date for bringing entries into school is Thursday 9th June
We are thrilled to announce that we will be holding our annual Summer Fayre on Friday 30th June at 3.30pm.
It has been a long time since we last held our Summer Fayre, due to Covid restrictions – we hope that this one will be just as fantastic as years gone by!
We would not be able to organise an event of this size without volunteers – therefore we are asking our families to come onboard and get involved, if you can!
If you have any spare time and would like to join our staff on the day and run a stall, please let Mrs King know.
Or if you have any ideas that you would like to put forward for the Summer Fayre, please email Mrs King - hking@stgregslydiate.co.uk - and we will see what we can do!
If you have a small business, there is also an opportunity for you to run a stall of your own - maybe you have a hobby and would like to sell some of your homemade items.
If so, please speak to Mrs King and we can arrange a stall for you.
Nearer the time, we will be holding mufti days in school, in exchange for items towards the tombola, raffle etc.
However, if you have any items you would like to donate, or own a business and would like to donate a gift voucher as a prize, it would be gratefully received!
Year 4 will be going on a residential to Malham in North Yorkshire from May 18-20.
