Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium?

Pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England. It is designed to help pupils perform better and make the best progress possible, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Pupil premium is allocated to children who are or have been looked after by the local authority (for even just one day), those who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years and for children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

The current government have run an initiative to provide funding to enable children in Reception through to Year 2 qualify for free school meals, this is called Universal Free School Meals. Even if your child is in Reception to Year 2, we would urge parents who qualify for free school meals to apply.
