When we read The Little Red Hen last week, Reception asked if they could bake bread like the hen did. So this week, we made bread in class. We added flour, yeast, salt, water and vegetable oil to a bowl and mixed it together. We covered and left the bread to rise for an hour. Then we all rolled a small bit of dough into a bread roll and placed it in the oven. We all tasted it and even took a bowl of our freshly baked bread into the hall for lunch!
