This half term the children have enjoyed settling in, exploring new activities and making new friends!

 'All About Me' 

Our first topic has helped the children to develop an understanding of themselves, their families, their community, and the changing world around them.

We began by exploring our bodies, naming different parts, talking what they can do, and learning about personal space.

We talked about how we have grown and changed since we were born, and enjoyed finding out about different types of families. We then explored our local area and found out about people who help in our community.

We ended our toic by looking at seasonal changes. We talked a lot about the seasons and how our environment changes throughout the year. Recently, we have enjoyed exploring signs of Autumn!

'Journeys'

Next half term we will begin our new topic 'Journeys'

We will think about the different types of journeys people take and the reasons for them. We will begin by talking about our own experiences of travelling and learn how people used to travel a long time ago.

We will then explore different types of transport used for journeys and learn that some journeys take place across water and need special kinds of transport!

Finally, the children will find out about journeys to the coldest places on Earth!
